The Committee forms the most important body within the James Cook University Medical Students’ Association. It is a diverse group of approximately 50 Officers from all six year levels of the undergraduate Medical Program at James Cook University. The general role of the Committee is to represent the voice of the wider membership of the Society.
The Committee meets regularly during the Academic Year to decide upon important directives regarding all aspects of the JCUMSA, from the location of Med Ball to our official standpoint on a specific educational matter and everything in between. Decisions made at Committee meetings are then acted upon by the Executive and other Committee members in the time between meetings.
Executive Committee Members 2024
The Executive Committee is made up of nine core members, alongside a newly created general executive comprised of seven members. The executive is critical to the functioning of the JCUMSA. They coordinate the non-executive Committee, oversee the Yearly elected Academics and Events teams, and are the face of the association.
